I recently bought my wife a small greenhouse. It came in two boxes, with multiple parts, each with its own number. Looking at it, I didn’t have a clue where to start. But there, laying on top of the jumble of wooden posts and panels, windows doors, screws, nuts and bolts, was the answer to my problem – the Owner’s Manual.
Piece-by-piece, carefully following the manual’s instructions, I began to put the parts together. As I worked, walls started to take form. Out of chaos came order. My confusion cleared and a building began to take form.
Life can be pretty confusing too. Sometimes it’s hard to see how all the parts fit together, what the next step should be. Thankfully, God has given us an Owner’s Manual with instructions to follow. It’s called the Bible.
Psalm 19:7, 8 says, “The instructions of the Lord are perfect, reviving the soul. The decrees of the Lord are trustworthy, making wise the simple. The commandments of the Lord are right, bringing joy to the heart. The commands of the Lord are clear, giving insight for living.”
In the Scripture we find all we need to build a successful life. In fact, “All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work.” (2 Timothy 3:16-17).
