Happy New Year!

1 Jan

I always like the start of a new year. The past is in the past, with all its mistakes and triumphs. “The old is gone, the new is here!” (2 Corinthians 5:17 NIV). A clean, unspoiled year, like a mountain meadow after a new fallen snow, lies before us, untrampled, unsullied, full of possibilities, ready for us to make our mark on it.

God has such great plans for each of us in this coming year. The psalmist describes it this way, “How great is the goodness you have stored up for those who fear you. You lavish it on those who come to you for protection, blessing them before the watching world.” (Psalm 31:19 NLT).

This morning God says to each of us, “Forget the former things, do not dwell on the past. See I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up, do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.” (Isaiah 43:18, 19 NIV).

This year, if you will give Him your heart and allow Him to direct your steps, God will send “an angel ahead of you to guard you along the way and to bring you to the place I have prepared.” (Exodus 23:20). He will lavish His goodness on you and bless you before the watching world. Put your hand in His today and walk together into a new year. With God by your side, 2025 will be the best year yet!

God bless and have a wonderful New Year!
